I was already sold on virtual reality (oculus quest 1) but now I’m all about mixed reality. All purchased games from quest 1 have been automatically transferred to quest 3 (without history). I do miss the long charging cable, so I kept that one, especially since the battery life is much shorter. I can’t play for 2 hours! There are options to extend battery life, but this is at the expense of image quality. The weight of the headset is better distributed, but after an hour you do feel the weight. The headbands are less comfortable, but are easier to adjust to your head than those of the 1. I think the sound is very good, I am always amazed that they can get such a good sound from such a small speaker. I also never use headphones or earphones. Scanning the room to create a border works very well and so much easier than drawing a border yourself. Especially because I often move and also take the VR with me to other locations and now I can start my game much faster.

I purchased the VR glasses partly to exercise more indoors. At that point, the VR glasses really motivate you to do that. I now exercise an extra half hour twice a day and it is really fantastic to do. The FitXR app is really great for this. I already spent EUR 779.98 on purchasing the glasses and the case. I then spent an additional EUR 200 on maintenance supplies, replacement and cleaning materials, purchases in the app, etc. I think that is a real setback. Despite that, I would recommend it because I am really very happy with it.

As a VR newbie, this is my first purchase in the VR world. I have tested other VR glasses and this one is the most versatile. They are beautiful VR glasses that really let you immerse yourself in another world. Great for quickly playing a game or watching a YT video. In my opinion, some preliminary research is needed before purchasing, otherwise you may be disappointed. The costs do not stop after the purchase of the glasses, which is quite a challenge. Each app/game is easily 20 to 40 euros (the standard games included are more like demos). You will soon want to switch to a different headband (with battery) and a different face cover. which can quickly get expensive. If you take that into account, they are fantastic glasses that in my opinion have no equal. You also notice that some things do not feel completely “finished”, this promises to only get better in the future with regular software updates. A lot of software is currently still focused on quest 2. As far as I’m concerned, these glasses are recommended for VR newbies, but take the extra costs into account.

Intense experience, so intense that I couldn’t hold it in, for example, a 360 3D rollercoaster video due to motion sickness, which arises because the immersed visual experience is so realistic and yet does not match the experience of your balance organ, which is logical of course. The games in the Meta shop are also affordable, impressive and easy to use. Certain games are crazy. Red Matter 2 bv and I have always wanted to learn to sail and learned this yesterday with the MarineVerse sailing simulator and courses on various sailing boats. The hand tracking itself is quite fast and very clever due to AI recognition, although it does not always work perfectly, but you can basically do anything with it. I like Immersive mode better than Passthrough mode, which is also useful for being able to look through your glasses or experience augmented reality. And also watch movies in multiple cinema halls in different modes and screen sizes. Stand among lions in the middle of Africa or dive with dolphins and sharks. Madness! Social networking has also become virtual and everyone goes to the Karaoke bar to sing, seeing each other (3D avatar) (walking, looking and moving) and hearing through the microphone. The built-in screen recording is also great. I also like the sound. , nothing in or against your ears and yet a nice full sound.
